After School Care

A safe space where kids can be kids.

Our After School Program is designed to enhance the time spent on campus outside of school hours. Children can play, learn, and create through diverse extra-curricular activities such as science, sports, arts, and learning lab. With the children’s well-being always in mind, we provide a stimulating and safe environment all year long.

Our programs encourage creative and artistic expression, as well as physical and cognitive growth of our students. Students are stimulated to think and create, and expend their energies in a safe, secure environment.

We offer the following activities and vacation care outside of school hours:

After School

General Child Care

Childcare is available until 6:15pm daily on Oak Street and 6:00pm on Page Street.

Children in the After School Program will have access to a number of activities, including Learning Lab, Arts & Crafts, Library (Grades 3 - 8), outdoor sports and games.

Extracurricular Classes

The After School Program also offers a number of Extracurricular Classes for children enrolled in the program. Classes include individual music lessons, sports, foreign language lessons, dance, and technology. There is an extra cost associated with our extracurricular classes (prices vary).

Extracurricular Classes are offered for Lower and Middle School students. The classes are generally one hour long and run for nine weeks in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.

Learning Lab

Learning Lab is offered 3 days per week and provides a space for students in Grades 3 - 5 to work at their own level and explore interests or passion projects. In the Learning Lab, time is divided into three segments: independent reading in both French and English; self-paced math practice; and personalized practice or genius time. Modeled after Genius Hour at Google, genius time allows students to generate an idea, create something to be shared, and reflect on their process and product.

The Learning Lab is staffed by members of the Academic Tech and Library teams, Lower School Administration, and the Teaching and Learning staff. Students are provided with small group or individual support as needed.

There are no additional costs associated with Learning Lab if your child is enrolled in the After School Program.

Dates and Times:

Monday - Wednesday, 4:00-5:00pm (Students will play on the yard and have a snack before going to Learning Lab at 4:00.)

Study Hall is offered on Thursdays for Grade 5 only.

Tutoring

The After School Program also provides tutoring for students enrolled in the program. All tutors must be pre-approved by the school. Rates vary based on the individual tutor.

Morning Care

Before School

Morning Care is available 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. at both French American locations: The Main Campus at 150 Oak Street and The Early Childhood Center at 1155 Page Street.

Vacation Care
