Better Together

Throughout the pandemic, we have rigorously followed San Francisco and California Department of Health (SFDPH and CADPH) regulations and relied on information from our international and independent school networks in order to ensure a safe learning environment for our faculty, staff and students. We are proud to have been one of the first schools in San Francisco to welcome students back to campus from PK3 through Grade 12 in 2020-21, fully and safely returning to a full calendar of in-person campus activities last year.

Our Covid-19 response has been guided by our values of respect, integrity, inclusion, collaboration, and curiosity. The well-being of our students, faculty and staff, and families is always paramount, and we endeavor to provide the most effective learning environment for all students, with equity and justice in mind. Acknowledging that our protocols and procedures will continue to evolve to ensure the health and safety of our community, below are links that provide an overview of our current Covid policies.
While we endeavor to keep this document as consistent as possible with published local and state guidelines, in a rapidly evolving health environment, we encourage you to check the San Francisco Department of Public Health's Coronavirus page for the most current regulations. Success in slowing and limiting the spread of the virus will depend on all of us in our community. We can do our part at school by rigorously following public health regulations, but we must also recognize that safety is a shared responsibility — part of the social contract we make with each other. Therefore, we ask all families to follow SFDPH regulations as well, and we encourage you to be vaccinated when eligible. We are grateful to all of our families, faculty and staff for the commitment and resilience that have kept our community strong during the pandemic and made our safe return to campus possible.


Principles for our Planning
In our planning, we are guided by these principles:

  • We are committed to the well-being and learning of our students, families, faculty, and staff, and to the long-term strength and advancement of our school
  • We recognize the importance of the on-campus experience for all our students and especially for our youngest students and their families
  • We therefore aim to have our students on campus as much as possible
  • As we implement measures to hold school while mitigating the spread of Covid-19 and promoting the health of all, we commit to advancing equity and social justice in our diverse, urban community.
