Connect, learn, and celebrate with us!
There's always an opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate at The International School of San Francisco. Below are upcoming events that serve our parents, alumni, and broader school community:
Welcome Events
New families quickly begin to feel at home at our school because we make it easy for parents and students to get to know one another. Welcome events and orientations start in late spring, allowing families to build connections within our community before the new school year begins. A schoolwide Back-to-School Picnic every August and host events throughout the year allow our entire community to mix, mingle, and connect.
Grandparents & Grand Friends Day
Our annual Grandparents and Grand Friends Day is a special event held in November for grandparents, family, and friends of PK2 to Grade 4 students, giving them a firsthand glimpse into the vibrant learning environment that shapes our students’ growth and development. The event includes a campus tour, engaging classroom activities, a special presentation from our Head of School, student presentations and videos, and fun photo booths!
Community Salon Series
At our Community Salons, community members gather to share, learn, and discover. Each Salon has a current, thought-provoking theme. Recent salon themes include biotechnology, neuroscience, political engagement, AI, and intellectual property. These free, engaging community events include food and beverages, are part of our broader Urban Engagement Program, and feature members of our parent community who share their expertise and spearhead discussions.
Principals Coffees
Each month, our parents and section principals gather at our school campuses for Principals Coffees, where they discuss community news, share stories, and answer questions. These sessions take place at the Page Campus for PK2-PK4 and the Oak Campus for Kindergarten to Grade 12. Don’t miss the dates in your weekly section email. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with our principals. We look forward to seeing you at our next Principals Coffee!
Parent Education
Not only do we support our students throughout their entire educational journey, but we also support our parents. Across school sections, we offer opportunities for parents to learn to support the well-being of their children. Through sessions and workshops with internal and external specialists at our school, we provide parents the chance to develop new skills, try new approaches, and talk with fellow parents about shared experiences.
Parents of Students of Color (PoSoC)
PoSoC is an affinity space devoted to parents and adult allies in our community who support students of color and their families. During monthly PoSoC meetings, parents work through a thoughtful curriculum that includes reflecting, learning about, and discussing salient issues that impact the learning, well-being, and resilience of underrepresented groups in our community. Spring Soirée
Our 2024 Annual Auction was an astounding success! Your support makes an incredible difference in the lives of our students and families. Our Financial Aid program allows our school to realize the promise of our mission and values: your gifts sustain the socio-economic diversity that our community cherishes and ensures that the needs of every student are met. Mark your calendar for next year's Annual Auction on May 3 at the Westin St. Francis.
Days of Service
Throughout the year, our parents have opportunities to come together and volunteer, including at our school-wide Days of Service, organized as part of our Urban Engagement Program. On the weekend before last Thanksgiving, we assembled care packages, each with a handmade card, which GLIDE distributed to our neighbors in need. In the spring, we got our hands dirty to celebrate Earth Day, weeding and mulching at the park.
