News and reflections from International High School.
I hope that your student had a relaxing break and was able to recharge their batteries and replenish away from Zoom and screens. We are now entering a long ten-week stretch that will take us all the way to our Winter Break on the evening of December 17, with a small interruption for Thanksgiving on November 25.
I hope that this first week of school has gone well for you and your family and that your student(s) is(are) finding ways to engage with their peers and teachers. As you will see in last Friday's student bulletin, Athletics, Back à Dos and MUN are launching and students will be invited this Friday to express their interest in forming clubs for this new academic year.
We appreciate the support of our community as we work to meet the challenge of COVID-19. Please take a moment to read the message from our Head of School and know that we will be in touch as the situation develops. Also, as you might have read in Melinda's email yesterday, a number of upcoming events have been cancelled. We will continue to keep you updated on a regular basis.
It was good to welcome everyone back on campus as we enter this important stretch of academic work, which takes us to the departure of most of our Global Travel Program trips at the end of March. On Monday, however, some of our early travelers were already back from Oman, and today it was the turn of our Senegal students to be back on campus. It is always inspiring to hear about our students' experiences during these trips, and I am already looking forward to our International Evening of Culture planned for April 27th.
