Principal's Notes
News and reflections from International High School.
Being a high school student during a pandemic is difficult and I am really proud of the level of engagement and hard work our students have demonstrated since we had to close our campus in March. Over the last few months, we have worked with our student council to identify ways in which we could support our students and acknowledge the impact on their mental health of the pandemic and long hours spent on Zoom.
I hope that your student had a relaxing break and was able to recharge their batteries and replenish away from Zoom and screens. We are now entering a long ten-week stretch that will take us all the way to our Winter Break on the evening of December 17, with a small interruption for Thanksgiving on November 25.
I hope that this first week of school has gone well for you and your family and that your student(s) is(are) finding ways to engage with their peers and teachers. As you will see in last Friday's student bulletin, Athletics, Back à Dos and MUN are launching and students will be invited this Friday to express their interest in forming clubs for this new academic year.
