We are well aware that the cost of an independent school education may at first seem overwhelming. These pages are designed to help you make this important investment in your child’s future by giving a general overview of our financial aid process, clarifying some of the major factors that influence award amounts and guiding you through the process. Financial Aid assistance is awarded on the basis of need and the potential family contribution as reported by School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS), an organization used by schools nationwide to calculate financial aid awards.
The formula that the SSS uses to calculate exact financial need is complex and considers many factors that affect a family’s ability to pay. The recommendation SSS makes is only one element the school takes into account when it determines financial aid awards. It is impossible to determine the proper level of tuition assistance unless all documents are completed and provided with the required supporting documentation. Applicants and their families should also be aware that the calculation of financial aid awards, which are prepared by our school’s Scholarship Committee, is separate from the admissions process. An application for financial aid in no way affects a student’s likelihood of being accepted to the school.
Unfortunately, most schools do not have the resources to offer financial assistance to every student who qualifies for both admission and reduced tuition. Since this means that it is possible for a child to be admitted to a school but placed on a waiting list for financial assistance, we encourage you to seek outside support opportunities.
French Government Scholarships
French Government scholarship applicants also need to complete the school Financial Aid process. Parents/guardians should complete the PFS form by January 12, 2017. Please contact the Financial Aid office of any concerns related to the Enrollment and Financial Aid processes as soon as they arise.
In the case of single, divorced, separated and non-spousal parents/domestic partners, both parents are required to submit an application. For more information, refer to our complete Policies and Procedures.
