OverviewAthletics play a prominent role in campus life and in the total educational experience offered at International. The mission of our athletic program is to offer student-athletes, through participation in competitive athletics, an opportunity to experience meaningful growth, accomplishment, and success. Through the development of sound habits of mind, heart, and work our student-athletes will maximize their fullest potential. Properly conceived, directed, and coached, interscholastic athletics provides experiences that will last long after the final scores are tallied. Lessons taught in the athletic "classroom" can extend to a broader playing field where life lessons can be learned; lessons in teamwork, self-discipline, personal sacrifice, integrity, sportsmanship, and responsibility that enrich the lives of our students and prepare them for life in the "real world" following graduation. Furthermore, participation in athletics promotes a positive self-image; development of physical, mental, and social skills. Thus, in its broader scope, consistent participation in the program will enable student-athletes to become life-long learners and positive citizens within our society.
Our athletic program focuses on competing with honor and pride for our school. We encourage a highly competitive attitude within the athletic program and take great pride in winning, however, the school does not condone “winning at all cost.” We discourage any and all pressures that lead to poor sportsmanship and words or actions contrary to the Mission and Goals of International High School.
Our athletic program consists of 9 different sports at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. Over 60% of our student body participates in athletics throughout the academic year. Our teams compete in the BCL - Central & West. |

 | Summer Baseball takes two Jaguars to Omaha 8/7/2010 Rising seniors, C. Bloszies and B. Benavides, two of our outstanding members of the Jaguar Baseball program, did what most serious baseball players do in the summer - they played baseball. The pair played in one of the most competitive summer league programs in California for their coach and Athletic Director Anthony Thomas. Connie Mack Baseball features future collegiate players and provided an excellent experience for these two standout players.
